I found these examples after about ten minutes of searching...these are from 2001.

29 August--Florence - Italian police on Tuesday defused an "unsophisticated" explosive device near the U.S. Consulate in Florence. Consulate security guards found the device - an explosive in a plastic bag with two wires attached concealed in a shoe box - on the street and notified police.

August 10--Venice, Italy -- The "Anti-Imperialist Terrorist Cells for a Fighting Communist Party" claimed responsibility for the bombing of courthouse in central Venice on Thursday

17 July--England: Federal Officials have said that a London-based Algerian has been arrested and charged by U.S. authorities with being one of the masterminds of a plot by Islamic terrorists to bomb Los Angeles International Airport on the eve of the millennium.

July 9--Germany: A foreign intelligence service analyst told Germany's DDP News Agency that Islamic terrorists with links to master terrorist Usama bin Laden are targeting Germany.

16 May--The Real IRA has been held responsible for some of the most high-profile terrorist attacks by an Irish organization in recent years. The group has claimed responsibility for the 1998 bombing in the town of Omagh in Northern Ireland, which killed 29 people and injured more than 200.

May 6--One person was slightly injured when a bomb exploded at a north London postal depot on Sunday. It was the second blast at the the same site in three weeks. Police blamed renegades who have split from the Irish Republican Army.

Feb 25--Police investigating a bomb blast at a Territorial Army barracks which maimed a teenager are not ruling out the possibility that Irish dissidents planted the device. The explosion in west London on Wednesday evening left a 14-year-old boy blinded. He also lost his hand and lower arm

Jan 6--British authorities issued a general warning on mailed packages on Friday after two letter bombs went off in northern England -- the third and fourth in a month. Two people were injured by the devices. Police said that people who work in farming and agriculture appear to be the targets.

September 4--Columbia: ERRI analysts are currently examining preliminary reports that Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) guerillas have used some kind of "toxic gas" in an attack on the police station in the town of San Adolfo, in Huila province.

07 April--According to U.S. intelligence officials on Friday, the threat of attack by militants linked to terrorist mastermind Usama bin Laden caused the United States to close three of its embassies in South America. The embassies closed were in the capitals of Uruguay, Paraguay and Ecuador.

04 March--A senior security adviser to Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said he believed "some sort of incendiary device" was responsible for an explosion and fire that destroyed a Boeing 737-400 jet being prepared for the Prime Minister at Bangkok airport on Saturday. The explosion killed one crewmember and wounded four others.

According to the Emergency Response and Research Institute there were 1106 acts of terrorism world wide during the year 2000. http://www.emergency.com/cntrterr.htm#Question-6

Granted, none of these examples begin to compare to the attack on the World Trade Center and the the Pentagon last week, but I think the declaration of war on terrorism is long overdue.

so any one of you would have supported a full blown war from any of those examples? minnow were you crying we go to war then.

Im getting pretty sick of you know it alls acting like this could have happened before. This isn't gonna be a half assed war against terrorism and it's not gonna be easy by any stretch of the imagination. afganistan was able to fight off the russians and it's not gonna be easy to fight them on the land.

Just stop with your bullshit "i told you so's" if we declared war with any of those incidents you posted you'd prob be one saying war wasn't called for.

Its funny how everyone's an expert now...most of you should just shut up for a while.

I guess that wasn't my point....I guess my point was that it's about time we sat up and took notice of these kinds of events worldwide...it didn't just start here...it's been going on for a long time and the senseless loss of life has been senseless even before it was a senseless loss of American life. I'm pleased that in some twisted way awareness has been heightened and nations are finally banding together to attempt to do something about it....that's all I was saying...

and snail...you are one of the most inconsistent people I've ever met *L*...one minute you're saying you respect us and the next calling us arrogant assholes who should just shut up *L*

Normally mel's post about Revelations is something you yourself would have jumped all over so just give me a break *L*

You can't have a civilized argument without resorting to name calling and personal insults and I've seen you do it countless times to people you claim to care about....Jesus...if I am or was ever on that list of people you claim to care about just cross me off and don't address me anymore please cos I need your antagonistic, insecure bullshit like I need another hole in my head....

    *a tear*

*L get over it minnow anyone who sits there saying which are "true" beliefs vs non true beliefs is an idiot. I have only insulted religious beliefs when they're condeming people for shit for example being gay.

I dont go to religious people and tell them their beliefs aren't true because they're not proven. He is an arrogant asshole. Always having to prove with every post how "intelligent" he thinks he is. Im waiting for him to write another thread about how improper use of their vs they're makes him sooo mad *L

Mel...it DOES make it untrue. It isnt a question of belief unless it is a justified TRUE belief. None of the prophesioes in Revelations or anywhere else in the bible contain enough verifiable facts for anyone to verify -so they remain statementsof belief...not even predictions.
